2001 Mercedes-Benz G500 SWB (short-wheel base), finished in dark blue metallic paint and grey leather interiors coupled with wood veneer trims. The car is offered in great conditions, both mechanical and aesthetic, by its long-term owner (since 2008).

This car features the top-of-the-range petrol 5.0L V8 engine, able to deliver 296 HP of power.

This specific G500 was first registered in Germany in 2001 as company car for a top manager of DaimlerChrysler (as the Mercedes holding was known back then), and as such the car sports all the additional equipment that was available for that model year, the most relevant being: electric sunroof, remote-operated Webasto parking heater (connected to the car fuel tank, i.e. without additional tank), power front seats, heated front and rear seats, TV with analog tuner, SIM-operated Nokia phone, GPS, 6-CD charger, rear parking sensors and many other.

After two years in Germany the car was imported in Italy in 2003 by a Monza-based company which owned it up to 2008, when it was bought by its third and current owner, a gentleman and car enthusiast from Tuscany who always kept it in indoor storage with a car cover, never used it for heavy off-road and has provided us with an extensive and detailed history of service and maintenance. At the time of his purchase, the car had 90,000 km on the odometer.

The car currently has 170,000 km, and the owner has regularly serviced it only at shops authorized by Mercedes-Benz.

Right after the purchase by its current owner, the car was reported to suffer a minor short circuit at the electrical system, which in turn caused a minor fire causing damages only to the electrical system itself – not to the chassis, engine or the interiors. After this issue, the whole electrical system has been overhauled and thoroughly checked by Mercedes-Benz itself. The car has never had any issue in the following 14 years, bar a very minor issue with the TV antenna that was causing excess power absorption from the battery; also this problem has been reported to be fully fixed.

Mechanically the car shows absolutely no flaw; it has been tested by me in both highway and urban settings for more than 200 km, and the car drives with no problem.

As visible from the extensive photo set we are providing, the car shows no exterior damages (it is reported to never have suffered a crash); only the chrome trim on the front grill shows minor wear from time. The cabin appears to be in great conditions, with only very little wear on the leather, plastics and wood veneer trims, showing dedicated care by the seller of its many years of ownership.

The car will be sold with its full documentation, extensive history of service and regular maintenance for the past 14 years, and with inspection passed in December 2022 (i.e. next inspection will be due in December 2024).
